Weekly notes related to explorations, workout and family
Explorations
I have been playing with bolt.new + NativeScript for the last week. It’s great at kick-starting your app (think of it as starter kit) but when it comes to specific changes and updates I always happen to go back to (Cursor AI)[https://www.cursor.com/] for making specific changes especially when bolt.new gets stuck in a loop fixing.
On Sunday I took part in an informal catchup of the Jhana Collective which was hosted by Prasanna. I’ve been practicing Vipassana on and off for 20+ years now post my first 10-day retreat in 2004. Prasanna took us through his experiments with integration practices like (IFS)[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internal_Family_Systems_Model#:~:text=The%20Self%20is%20the%20natural,and%20assume%20a%20healthy%20one.] to strengthen one’s meditation practices and reach Jhana states with more awareness. I am curious and would like to read about Jhanas and IFS further to ease into some of these practices.
Family & Friends
Met with Mona’s colleagues on Friday night. It ended up being the longest night out in the last few years. Ibhan was engaged with few elder kids while we were discussing everything from food, Mumbai, Bengaluru, metros, commute and work.
On Saturday we had Onam celebrations at our apartment complex which was fun. I feel gratitude for folks coming together as a community for festivities.
I met Ankur on Sunday for breakfast at MTR JP Nagar. We spent 4-5 hours together but time just flew. We discussed personal life, work, jobs, real-estate, kids, education and a bunch of topics. Unlike longer catch-ups where you feel jaded - I felt lighter and energized.
Workout
I did a 30+ hour fast on Saturday which felt great. I have been doing a mix of intermittent fasting over the last few years but have not experimented with longer fasts as much.
Furthermore, I plan to incorporate longer fasts two times a month and for this I’m contemplating syncing it with the lunar calendar - also popularly known as (Ekadashi Fasting)[https://www.drikpanchang.com/vrats/ekadashidates.html].
Last week continued with morning swims, resistance training and ~11k steps/day.
