A Friday dinner at Bao To Me with a surprise visit from the chef, and a week shaped by Dorian Yates’ philosophy on high-intensity training.

Family & Friends

On Friday we ventured out for dinner and picked Bao To Me in Koramangala. The backstory: Chef Wanming Li is Mona’s ex-colleague who quit a software job, went to culinary school, and opened this restaurant. We dropped in and truly loved the food — the wontons and udon noodles were the highlight. Chef Wanming happened to visit the restaurant that same evening and recognized Mona. We got a selfie with him too. Deserves a few more visits to work through the rest of the menu.

Workout

Kept up with steps, clocking around 10k steps/day.

About two months ago I listened to Dorian Yates on Huberman and decided to follow his high-intensity, low-volume training method. My first exposure to Dorian was seeing him on the magazine covers my elder brother used to read when I was 14 — so I sat through the entire podcast. Beyond the training method itself, it reinforced something broader: reaching the elite level of any sport requires a maddening level of discipline and routine.
